The Genie Poem by Devyani Narayan

The Genie

Spread the love

I called out and rubbed the lamp, cried and pleaded.
I comforted myself with spells, this magic will take time.
Yet, I failed.

I compelled the universe to glorify my desire.
“Grant me a wish, bring them back. The dead, the lost and the perished.”

Yes, i failed, I cried and pleaded.
I rubbed the lamp again.

Spread the love
